Difference between Jealousy and Envy

In today's sunday service, I've learned that there is a big difference between Jealousy and Envy. According to Pastor Bong, the major difference between the two is jealousy acts on the will to preserve a relationship that is being threatened; envy on the other hand acts on sheer want to get what others have. Envy is purely selfish and biased. Jeaslousy can be godly or selfish. It has been said that jealosuy can also be a sign from God, warning a person of their own weaknesses or potential pit falls.

Take this scenario for example, your wife feels jeaslous about the husband spending too much time with his work mates. This in itself shows that the husband should be more considerate about the emotional needs of the wife. This emotion called jealousy might be warnings from God to save a relationship.

So lets not worry or covet the things that other people may have. Instead let us focus on what we can do for others. Find joy and share it. God made us wonderfully unique, we all have bright futures ahead of us. Have a wonderful week! :)
