IHop at Bonifacio Global City

The International House of Pancakes (commonly known as IHOP) recently opened its doors to the Philippine market by establishing its first mark at Taguig City. This international food giant started 54 years ago and now has a wide variety of food offerings from breakfast, lunch, and dinner items.

They are conveniently located at Ground Level, W Global Center. 30th St. corner 9th Ave., Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. There are a lot of nearby parking spaces. They are open from 6:00am to 12:00am Sunday to Thursday and 24 hours Friday and Saturday. Having that unlimited coffee will sure come in handy for these 24 hours.

Last February 15, 2013, IHOP had its doors open to the public. I went there around 12 noon just in time for lunch. At first there was a massive waiting list, about 15 people before me...but as I thought, people will not wait too long for lunch. So in just a matter of 10 minutes waiting, they were able to sit me down since majority of the people listed did not bother to wait.

They have two floors. The first floor was mainly the reception. It just hold around 3 tables. The rest are on the official second floor. It housed about 20-25 set tables (i think) and the kitchen. There were lots of wall decors that lit up the room and i loved the lamps they used. They had several waiters and international IHOP Trainers on site. Good job in standardizing and ensuring that the IHOP name was upheld.

Below are images of the site:

Food review!!

I had the following for lunch:
1. Splashberry [PHP 175]
2. Sirloin Steak Tips Dinner [PHP 575]
3. Spinach and Mushroom Hash brown Stack [PHP 295] with 2 buttermilk pancakes

Verdict:
1. Overall: 4 out of 5. IHOP hosts a variety of awesome food dishes and it surely pumps up the day right.
2. Food: 4 out of 5. Good serving size and taste. Was just disappointed with the pancakes.
3. Service: 5 out of 5. Superb. They know what you need and want without saying it.
4. Value for Money: 4 out of 5.  A bit pricey... was shocked that for just 2 meals + 1 drink, reached a bill of PHP 1100 +.

Splashberry [PHP 175] - unlimited morning booster. sliced strawberries + lemon-lime soda + orange juice.
Awesome! Loved the fizz and the sweetness of the strawberry. This combination is a winner but might not be the best beverage for breakfast.

Sirloin Steak Tips Dinner [PHP 575] - Served with 2 slices of garlic bread, buttered corn, mash potato and some grilled/sweet USDA sirloin.
One of their star meals, this sirloin steak dish proved to me that meat is indeed a good way to start your day. This steak chops was perfectly marinated and tenderized, it was really soft and tasty that I enjoyed munching this. Plus you have several sides <potatoes, corn, and bread> to balance everything out.

Tip: Ask for some gravy. It will make your mashed potatoes yummy.

Spinach and Mushroom Hash brown Stack [PHP 295] -- Comes with either pancakes, toast, or sliced fruits. I chose to have it with 2 buttermilk pancakes.
The great thing about this dish is the crispiness of the potato strings, it really worked well with my soft cooked egg. Plus add some spinach and mushroom into the mixture and you have a well balanced meal. I enjoyed this dish.

Fluffy Original Butter Milk Pancakes
Being the pancake addict that I am... I am very picky on how my pancakes are made. Sadly, the main event of my IHOP trip did not quite match my expectations. Pancakes were not awesome. It was tasteless and dry. Good points: Very fluffy and the accompanying syrup (Old Fashioned) was divine.

So amidst everything, IHOP is wonderful and I do suggest this place for family, couple, and solo goers.  Happy tripping!
