Korea 2013 - Places to Eat at Seoul

As discussed in my previous post, last Oct 3-9, 2013 I had a trip to Korea. It was one of the best trips I have had to date. One of the major reasons is because of the KOREAN FOOD. So as promised, here are some of the places we ate at and some of the food. I highly suggest you drop by when you can. SUPER LOVE THE COLD NOODLES! Some perks of having a travel guide as awesome as BB of This is Korea. ;) Almost all the places we've been too, we ate like there was no tomorrow...but still there were left overs. Portions were really big!

1. Oct 3, 2013 - dinner: Ate at a random korean store near our place. Ended up eating some BBQ at Don Choh Nam Sah Sam Gyeob (Jon Mown Jom). The BBQ was yummy and ended up paying around 10,000KRW per person. Not so bad. We had BBQ, soup, and good old Bibimbap.

2. Oct 4, 2013 - Breakfast c/o This is Korea. Had Isaac. It was the best sandwich ever! We had their bestseller which cost around 2,800 KRW per sandwich. I cannot remember what was inside but it was REALLY good. It was so cool to watch how to they made the sandwich, they placed butter on the foil and topped everything at a consistent speed. If you go to Korea, you have to try Isaac!

3. Oct 4, 2013 - Lunch c/o This is Korea. Ate at (Hongdae) Maponaru Cold Noodle - Bulgogi (main menu). BB ordered us a lot of different dishes, we had a taste of several flavors. But among all we loved the SPICY COLD NOODLE the most, we were taught to add the spicy mustard and vinegar to it and it was heaven. If you happen to pass by Hongdae, you have to eat at Maponaru Cold Noodle place. Its the best!

4. Oct 4, 2013 - Dinner c/o This is Korea. Ate at Gwangjang Market. BB ordered us a lot of food for sharing. Some were Bindaeddeok, Mayak Kimbap, Ddeokbokki, Soondae. The most interesting one was the liver, BB highly recommended it but I was never a fan of bloody tasting stuff. hahaha. But you should stop by here when you can, its amazing to see how the locals eat their food. Warning, people here might not know english so it helps to have a local with you here.

5. Oct 5, 2013 - Breakfast c/o N Fourseason Hotel Myeongdong. NFourseason have a breakfast buffet, i just have my usual rice + sausages + soup + milk + juice.

6. Oct 5, 2013 - Lunch c/o This is Korea. Ate at (Insadong) Gangnam Myeonok, ate a lot of Nangmyeon again. This is the best COLD NOODLE we have tried as it has different varieties and toppings. One serving is great for sharing.

* Oct 5, 2013 - Dessert at Deux Amis. This is the best cake place I have to in my WHOLE LIFE. Tried the Japan Tea Strawberry < KRW 6,500> and Chocolat <KRW 6,500>. It was really pricey but I love the cake. Worth coming back to once in a while. They require a person to buy an item/product, for example there are 2 of you... you need to buy 2 products, but you can share those 2 products amongst yourselves.

7. Oct 5, 2013 - Dinner c/o This is Korea. Ate at Sin Mapo Galmaegi. Another winner in our trip. We had a lot of BBQ here. Seriously a LOT. We left really full and bloated. Unlimited salad, i am not a fan of sald... but the salad dressing here is just YUMMY we could not get enough.
The yellow ring is egg. Really yummy when its done, texture is like custard.
 8. Oct 6, 2013 - Breakfast c/o N Fourseason Hotel Myeongdong. NFourseason have a breakfast buffet, i just have my usual rice + sausages + soup + milk + juice.

9. Oct 6, 2013 - Lunch c/o This is Korea. Ate at Chuncheon Dakgalbi. One of the specialties here. After our Nami Island visit, BB brought us here. We ate a whole lot of Dakgalbi <chicken bbq>. It was yummy and VERY FILLING.

Just look how much food we have

10. Oct 6, 2013 - Dinner c/o This is Korea. Ate at Kimbap Cheonguk, ordered several korean dishes like bibimbap, tokbokki, gimbap, chapchae. Typical korean restuarant, did not really leave an impression to me.

11. Oct 7, 2013 - Breakfast c/o N Fourseason Hotel Myeongdong. NFourseason have a breakfast buffet, i just have my usual rice + sausages + soup + milk + juice.

12. Oct 7, 2013 - Lunch. Ate at Everland Food Court. Just had some bibimbap I think. I will look for documentation on what I ate here and the amount. But definitely I ate something rice.

13. Oct 7, 2013 - Dinner c/o This is Korea. Bought some Gwangeo (flat fish sashimi) and Salmon from Noryangjin Fish Market and ate it near the Banpo Bridge. BB also ordered some softdrinks and chicken to go with it. Really yummy! I WOULD GO BACK TO KOREA JUST FOR THE SALMON SASHIMI, that is how much i love it. I think my friend bought it for $50 a slab. He taught us how to make the paste for the sashimi. It was a great night of fun, stories, and laughter.

14. Oct 8, 2013 - Breakfast at Bob Burger. Found it nearby where I was staying. Stayed at Blessing in Seoul. They have good filling rice burgers and it just cost me KRW 8,000 per burger. It was really tasty and worth it.

15. Oct 8, 2013 - Lunch at Borisu Korean Restaurant. Went to Myeongdong area again as it was close to the theater where I will watch Nanta musical. Stopped by at a nearby mall and saw Borisu Korean Restaurant to be the most cost friendly among all. Ate some stew, it was okay. Good enough to get me by.

Appetizers to start

16.  Oct 8, 2013 - Dinner at Lotteria. Luckily saw that Lotteria has a promo and managed to by its set meal of 2 burgers and drinks for just KRW 10,900. It was your good old typical fast food but it was good for budget travelers.
The whole set

Burgers of 2 kinds
 17. Oct 9, 2013 - Breakfast at Seoul Station Food Court. Preparing to get back to the Incheon Airport, decided to take the Express Train so I had to drop by the Seoul Station. Had breakfast there at the food court while waiting for my scheduled trip. Ate some omu-rice. :D

My friend ordered some stew
18. Oct 9, 2013 -  Lunch at Global Lunch Buffet. For KRW 20,000, decided to eat at a buffet restaurant at Incheon Airport while waiting for my boarding. The food was typical buffet food, bit bland but the variety is interesting enough. Had my fair share in the tuna sashimi section and I was happy.
